Kat Franks work also uses quite sketchy and messy line marks to create a loose sense of realism, for example bricks don't look like that, but the texture is used to suggest that they are they. I think the lack of detail in the work works well, using thick block shapes along with thin quick lines. It almost looks like a diagram rather than an actual illustration of an actual real life situation.
